You can "sneak up" on people when a gas engine is running as well. I've found that people walking through parking lots are stupidly unaware of whatever is behind them. This is true when my Prius is running on electricity and when it is running on gas.

I agree w/ hank. Drop the price and more importantly, increase range so that those living in rural areas can safely commute back and forth w/out worries (or w/out the added fuel system to barely make it home).

Will wait until there are more electric outlets for the car. Who do you call when you run out of power? IS someone going to bring you a battery?

My vehicle runs good, its paid for, gets decent MPG and I will Not be replacing it with anything else! It does Not matter what Brand or Model it is, EV's and Inbreds are too high priced for me. With the high price of purchasing a new EV or Inbred, I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept or a Chevy Volt. With Barry's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, who can afford to buy an EV or Inbred. Barry can sure spin the jobs numbers so they look much better than what they really are, he's a smooth talker if there ever was one! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012

Even on the second day it sounds like a commercial for Government motor. not every one has a car dropped off to them by a manufacturer unless that company is pretty sure the reviews will be good and the person will be thrilled with the product. I think I saw the same commercial on T.V. the other night, why she had not put gas in her Volt for a year. So much for unbiased reporting but space needed filled for a couple of days.

Paying $40,000 for a $18,000 vehicle? $22,000 will buy an awful lot of gas.

Can't see that I'd ever have any use for one. Electricity isn't cheap, cost and range are important issues not to mention cost/hassle of replacing batteries.
