And to answer boldrph, Indiana gasoline does not go to Kansas. Most of Kansas gasoline comes from local refineries or up from Texas.

I used to work there 30 years ago. I don't know what happened but someone had to work really hard to make this mistake.

BP I'm sure will not pay to fix all the costs created by their bad product with out raising the cost of their products to the public.

What if they did have problems, but they used up all the gas in the tank?

sailormon- Probably because testing is suppose to catch a problem before it gets to the Customer's Tanks. If it does happen... it's usually blamed on contamination at the local Station(s)/Tanker(s) not the Refinery/Terminal. An isolated "Bad Gasoline" problem that with luck a Station Owner quickly catches and shutsdown... if vehicles start dropping like flies. Course that isn't always the case and in the worst of cases actually happens over a long period of time.
2004 Milwaukee, WI- We had a problem that eventually focused on contaminated Gas that was sold largely to CITGO Stations in our market. The Contamination seemed to affect mostly GM Fuel Injectors from late 90's/early 00's and not right away... So it took a while for people to discover what was causing it. So the damage was done long before the problem was discovered. So BP should get a little credit for catching it early. They can't risk any more bad publicity... then they already have. Having Cars dying left and right across the Country or Region would be deadly for them.

More problems with our refinery/pipeline grid. Better switch to electric before the whole grid goes down.

Hey, "Stuff" happens. It's not good, and BP or any other refiner tries hard not to do this type of thing, but it will occasionally happen. What really counts is how the company responds to the problem.

Why is BP allowed to continue doing business in the US? Oh wait, they continue making huge bribes to Federal, state and local authorities to stay here.
